Frequently asked questions.
Is NERA the same as explosive reactive armor?
No. NERA is a non-explosive armor concept. Program 04 is intentionally separate from Program 05 ERA, which involves energetic materials and a different safety and qualification regime.
Can NERA modules be installed on existing armored vehicles?
Yes, subject to vehicle survey, allowable mass, structural integration, clearance and configuration-specific qualification.
Are fixed protection levels published on this page?
No. Final ratings depend on the exact vehicle, module configuration and completed qualification program.
